Fabrizio Romano Hints at Two More Chelsea Targets

Fabrizio Romano Hints at Two More Chelsea Targets After Liam Delap Deal

Chelsea is once again gearing up for a busy summer transfer window. With a spot secured in next season’s UEFA Champions League, the club is determined to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad across all areas as they prepare for a serious title challenge.

The first big step came with Chelsea activating the release clause for young striker Liam Delap, fending off competition from Manchester United, Newcastle, and Everton. A deal is reportedly agreed, and his arrival at Stamford Bridge is imminent.

But according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Delap might not be the only forward joining the Blues this summer. On his YouTube channel, Romano shared insights suggesting Chelsea are targeting not one, but two more attacking options.

1. Emanuel Emegha – A Deal for the Future

Romano revealed that Chelsea is planning to pre-sign Emanuel Emegha from French side Strasbourg, with the intention of having him join in 2026. “My expectation is for Chelsea to pre-sign Emegha from parent club Strasbourg this summer for 2026... Chelsea are already planning for 2026,” Romano stated.

Emegha has had a breakout season, scoring 14 goals in 27 Ligue 1 appearances. His development under manager Liam Rosenior has impressed scouts, and Chelsea appears ready to act early to secure his services long-term.

2. Hugo Ekitike – A Tactical Addition

In addition to Emegha, Chelsea is reportedly monitoring Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt. While Romano confirmed that talks aren’t advanced yet, he emphasized the club’s ongoing interest in the 22-year-old.

Ekitike boasts a strong record of 22 goals and 12 assists across 48 appearances this season. His ability to play both centrally and out wide makes him an attractive option for Maresca, offering much-needed tactical flexibility in attack.

Despite having both Nicolas Jackson and the incoming Delap, Chelsea seems eager to add more depth and variety up front. Ekitike’s versatility could see him play alongside either striker, rather than compete with them directly.

Conclusion

With Romano’s latest hints, it’s clear Chelsea are far from done in the transfer market. Even after landing Delap, the Blues are actively planning ahead with Emegha and exploring immediate reinforcements like Ekitike. This proactive approach shows the ambition of the club’s leadership as they aim to return to the top of English and European football.
